berri is a social app that helps you make plans, get together with your friends irl, send open or private invites, auto-generate ideas for what to do, manage rsvps, chat in group chats to coordinate, see what’s going on around you, and keep all of your plan details in one place.
swipe up from the home screen and choose private plan, open invite, or surprise me. then add your title, choose a plan icon, and select the date and time. from there, tap where to choose a location or set of locations for private plans, or tap the specific venue button for open invites. if you’re creating a private plan, you can choose which friends to invite by tapping the who tab. you can also add notes, which will appear as the first message in the chat once the plan is sent.
no. guests can respond to invitations from a link sent by text, even if they don’t have an account yet. downloading the app may unlock extra features like notifications, messaging, and faster updates.
yes. berri is completely free for our users to use.
yes. organizers need an account and to download the app so they can manage plan details, invitations, and guest activity.
no. guests can rsvp through a shared link sent to them either through the organizer in-app when they’re added to a plan or manually by copying and pasting the link. creating an account, however, lets you message in the chat, leave a plan, and access other helpful features.
on the home screen, open the plan you organized. you can update details like the title, time, location, and plan icon at any time before the plan’s end time.
yes. if you update the plan date or time, guests will see the new details, and berri may notify them of the change(s). it’s always best to remind the group in the chat as well though ;)
not at this time. however, this is a feature that will be available in the future.
no, not right now. however, we make it very easy to re-create an old plan from scratch exactly how you had it before.
yes. to cancel a plan, go to the bottom left of the plan summary screen and tap end plan for all. you can also leave a plan, even if you’re the organizer.
yes. clicking end plan for all removes it from your account and makes it inaccessible to guests too.
yes. private plans are only visible to invited guests and any pluses. to make it as restrictive as possible, make sure the pluses slider is set to none.
yes. open invites will blast the invite to either all your friends or friends plus mutuals in your area. to make a plan more public, make sure you select friends plus mutuals and the pluses slider is set to +5.
yes. you can add or update the venue or venues at any time. you can also add as many new legs to the plan at any time if you want to make sure the after is included too.
yes. just be sure to include the Zoom link in the chat. that being said, we're all about encouraging our users to meet up with their friends in-person and touch grass.
you can invite guests from your list of added friends, or by allowing contact access to invite people who are not yet on the app. after tapping the who page, tap contacts at the top to see everyone in your phone who is not yet on berri. if someone is not already in your contacts, we recommend adding their number to your phone first before creating the plan.
yes. if someone doesn’t have a berri account yet, you can still invite them through the contacts tab at the top of the who screen, and they’ll receive the invitation via a texted link.
not at this time. berri accounts are currently linked to phone numbers, not email addresses.
not at this time. however, the ability to copy and paste a standalone plan link to share in another group chat or post online will be available in the future.
not at this time. however, we will soon have a re-ping feature that will ping people who have not rsvp’d up to two times after the invite is originally sent before the event starts.
yes. you can add more guests any time before or during the plan.
yes. you can organize friends into groups. groups are individual to each user and not shared for the time being.
yes. you can limit the number of guests to just those you invite when creating a private plan. just make sure the pluses slider is set to none. for open invites, make sure you select only friends and that the pluses slider is set to none to be the most restrictive.
guests can open the plan invite and choose to rsvp yes or no. we do not have a maybe option because we are trying to foster a more decisive community. not selecting yes or no is our maybe.
yes. if you initially rsvp yes to a plan, you can still leave the plan by scrolling to the bottom of the plan summary at any time.
no. we intend to protect people's privacy and not create an excuse for our users to get annoyed with one another.
yes. you can allow guests to bring a plus-one or up to plus-five.
yes. you can see on the plan summary screen how many people are coming in real-time. this even counts the people that others you invited have added to the plan if you allowed that when the plan was created.
no. we want each user to have full control over their own responses. this helps prevent misrepresentation of attendance and supports clear, accurate transparency for every plan.
yes. click on them on the plan's summary screen, wait for the pop-up to appear, and click the remove button.
if a plan unintentionally reaches capacity, we recommend ending the plan for all and creating a new, more restrictive plan to account for any errors or oversights made during initial creation.
yes. organizers can send updates in the group chat of the plan to those who have accepted or have not responded, similar to how they would in iMessage or Whatsapp.
not at this time. however, this is something we are considering.
berri will send people a reminder about an hour before the plan’s start time, even if they have not rsvp’d yes yet. if they rsvp'd no they automaticlly leave the plan.
not at this time. a guest would have to rsvp no or leave the plan if they do not want to receive updates for it.
not at this time. however, custom reminders are something we're considering.
please check that notifications are enabled in both the app and your device settings. this is the most common explanation. for further technical assistance, if this does not work, please contact support@berri.social.
yes. friends can mute notifications for a plan in-app by clicking the bell icon in a plan’s chat or by customizing the notification preferences in your phone’s settings for berri.
that depends on the type of plan you selected and the options you chose after that. for private plans, only the people you invited can see the plan, along with any plus-ones through plus-fives allowed based on your pluses slider selection. for open invites, visibility depends on the audience you selected, such as friends or friends plus mutuals in your area, along with any additional guests those attendees may add if your selections allow it.
it depends on what you selected. if you selected anything above none on the pluses slider, then the people you invited can invite up to that many people without your permission as the organizer. don't worry because as the organizer you can still remove them from the plan.
no. we want berri to be as transparent as possible. allowing guest lists to be hidden could make it harder for users to make a fully informed decision about whether they want to attend and, in some cases, could even affect their safety.
not at this time. we encourage users to carefully consider how restrictive they’d like to make a plan before sending it out. however, approval for each guest if pluses are selected and/or for open invites will be a feature added in the future. you can still remove anyone from the plan that was invited by someone else as the organizer at any time.
go to the friends screen to the left of the home screen. search the friend you’d like to block, click the three vertical dots next to their name, and press block.

no. our goal is to not restrict users this drastically. however, you can remove them from the plan if someone is acting inappropriately.
please email support@berri.social. we will be adding easier self-service options in the near future.

yes, you can. however, the number of people you’d be able to invite would be drastically impacted. we are not able to see nor do we sell your contacts data.
